Maluma literally set the stage on fire during his “Tonika” performance at the 2021 Latin AMAs on Thursday (April 15).
Equipped with a full band and backup singers, dressed in modern takes on traditional dresses and headscarves, Maluma was joined by collaborator, Ziggy Marley. The vibrant performance reached its climax, with flames erupting from the stage. After Marley’s departure, the Colombian singer vibed to a pure reggae breakdown of the song.
Maluma entered the night with six nominations, including artist of the year, favorite male artist and favorite urban song, alongside the weekend for their single “Hawai.”
Hosted by Mexican actress Jacqueline Bracamontes, the 2021 Latin AMAs — live from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida — featured other performances Ozuna, Maluma, Camilo, Los Dos Carnales and Eslabon Armado, among others.
