Marcus King and Eddie 9V Join Kevin Scott’s 10th Annual Holiday Funk Spectacular

Marcus King and Eddie 97 have joined the lineup for Kevin Scott’s 10th Annual Holiday Funk Spectacular. As previously reported, the festive all-star jam will take place at Atlanta, GA’s Variety Playhouse on December 18. In addition to the newly minted Gov’t Mule bassist, who will serve as band leader, other confirmed acts include: Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Benji Shanks (Blackberry Smoke), Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy, The Fearless Flyers), Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic), Jelly Joseph (Galactic), Kevn Kinney, T. Hardy Morris, The Greyhounds, King Baby, Emil Werstler (Dååth), Rick Lollar (Jimmy Herring, King Baby), Lamont Landers, Jontavious Willis, Mark Raudabaugh (Sierra Hull, Donna the Buffalo), Matt Slocum (Warren Haynes Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Railroad Earth), Ryan Scott, Rhett Huffman (American Aquarium), Jordan Shalhoup, Danny Wytanis (Ghost Note), Mark Rivers (Tedeschi Trucks Band), Art Edmaiston (Gregg Allman, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Little Feat), Marc Franklin (Aretha Franklin, BB King, Justin Timberlake), Rafael Pereira, Amanda Joy, Tiffany White and Spencer Pope. Michael Goot will also return as “Fat, Drunk, Jewish Santa.”

According to the show announcement, the night will feature “tunes ranging from James Brown and Otis Redding to Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin to Frank Zappa and Black Sabbath, and a few seasonal standards with just the right amount of holiday flavor.” Proceeds will benefit the Georgia Music Foundation and Backline.
