Matisyahu Joins Light It Up Live Before the Light Pre-Hanukkah Celebration

Matisyahu will make a special appearance at Mt Vernon, NY’s Nuna Harvest dispensary this Sunday, November 30, as part of Light It Up Live Before the Light. The event, which is being billed as a communal pre-Hanukkah celebration honoring the season of light, will take place from 5-8pm. A variety of vendors, a DJ and a mix of mocktails will round out the festivities. The singer/rapper grew up in nearby White Plains, NY.

Throughout the month of December, Matisyahu will make a series of special appearances. On December 6, he will headline Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre, with TAUK both opening the show and serving as Matisyahu’s band. Then, Matis will celebrate Hanukkah proper with his trademark Festival of Light shows at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on December 14 and 15 as well as Miami Beach, FL’s Miami Beach Bandshell on December 20 and 21. The all-star band of guitarist Aaron Dugan, keyboardist Rob Marscher, bassist Jason Fraticelli and drummer Ben Atkind will support Matisyahu during the 18th-annual celebration. The shows will also mark the 20th anniversary of Matisyahu’s classic Live at Stubb’s album and the singer has confirmed that a reinterpretation of the album will serve as the evening’s “opening act.” Of the shows, Matis says, “This year we are unleashing the disco ball dreidel for two nights in Brooklyn and then putting the dreidel in a truck and driving south to Miami for two nights. Come get lit with me and dance under the lights. It will be two sets starting with Live At Stubb’s and then the new music of Ancient Child mixed with hits and face melting jams. See you soon.”

Matisyahu will also appear at Tempe, AZ ‘s Reggae Rise Up Arizona on April 17.
