Metro Boomin acquitted

Producer Metro Boomin has been found not liable in a civil sexual assault case, following a verdict clearing him of all allegations. The case involved accusations made by a former acquaintance and concluded after a three-day trial in Los Angeles.

The lawsuit was filed by Vanessa LeMaistre, who accused the hip-hop producer of sexual assault. During the proceedings, a central piece of evidence was a handwritten note LeMaistre wrote during a 2024 trip to Peru.

While participating in an Ayahuasca ceremony, she drafted a document titled, “Plan Ayahuasca Gave Me,” in which she wrote that she planned to “blow the whistle on Metro Boomin” by sharing her allegations online. She also write, “we’re asking for 3.4 million to 3.7 million” alongside a claim that she herself is a medium.

Metro Boomin’s attorney, Justin Sanders, argued that the note was critical in discrediting the claims. The jury was ultimately swayed by those statements, resulting in Metro Boomin being cleared of all charges and found not liable.

”I’m blessed and glad the truth prevailed,” the producer told independent reporter Meghann Cuniff. The producer said he was thankful for Young Thug’s presence in the courtroom yesterday, which “meant the world to him.” He told reporters his only courtroom experience before was watching the YSL trial proceedings.

The civil sexual assault allegations against Metro Boomin first surfaced publicly in October 2024. The hip-hop producer was sued by Vanessa LeMaistre, who alleged that she was assaulted during a 2016 recording session. The details in that lawsuit included references to a post-incident pregnancy and cited Metro Boomin’s lyrics as purported evidence related to the allegations.

Jurors who spoke with the press following the case said they felt there was no concrete evidence supporting the plaintiff’s version of events. Jurors rejected all four claims against the producer, including sexual battery.
