On April 26, the National Symphony Orchestra will honor the music of Leonard Cohen at Washington, D.C.’s Concert Hall in the Kennedy Center. The event will include classic examples from the artist’s esteemed repertoire, including favorites such as “Suzanne,” “Hallelujah,” “Famous Blue Raincoat,” and more. Assisting in the delivery of choice material is an all-star lineup of talent.

Taking part in the impending occasion are musicians such as Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Madison Cunningham, Ben Folds, Bill Frisell, Don Henly, Gregory Porter, JD Souther, and Trish Yearwood. Moreover, the evening will be led by seven-time Grammy Award-winning conductor Vince Mendoza.

In addition to Mendoza, the night of celebration also involves Cohen’s close friend, Larry Klein, whose tribute album, Here It Is, inspired the tribute concert. Speaking on the creation of the LP, Klein offered, “It helped keep him in the air around me… the musical language we developed together makes the songs connect with people in a new way.”
