Oasiz, a new social creation platform based in San Francisco, has closed a $2.5 million seed round. The platform targets the intersection of gaming, social sharing, and virality—think TikTok meets Roblox.
Leading technology investors participated in the funding round, including Andreessen Horowitz Speedrun (a16z Speedrun) and The Venture Reality Fund. Notable executives Tabish Ahmed and Mike Abbott also participated. Oasiz is aiming to define a new media category it is calling ‘playable content.’
The platform gives users the ability to create games in seconds and share those games “with the same speed and cultural resonance as memes or short videos.” Unlike other platforms, Oasiz says it is built for instant, viral discovery, enabling creators to infuse playful cues, humor, and personal touches found in social video content but remixed into playable games.
“Every major social platform has been built on a new kind of media: first text, then photos, then video,” shares CEO Abel Dagne. “We believe the next wave will be interactive. Oasiz gives creators the power to turn ideas into playable moments that spread just as quickly as memes or videos do today.”
The platform, currently a web-based service, has seen users create over 5,000 playables during a closed beta. This volume points to real interest among a growing community. Oasiz works by letting friends generate or remix multiplayer games, instantly share them through a TikTok-style discovery feed, and interact socially around the content.
“Oasiz represents a breakthrough in how people will engage with interactive content,” shares Marco DeMiroz, Co-Founder and General Partner of The Venture Reality Fund. “By making game creation as fast and intuitive as posting a meme, the team is opening the door to a new wave of social creativity. We believe ‘playable content’ has the potential to become a defining media category for the next generation.”
“Oasiz is building the beginnings of a next-generation social platform centered around a new verb – Play. Additionally, the team shares our strong belief that the act of playable content creation with friends is as important as the content itself. We are thrilled to support Abel and Jonathan in their quest to bring billions of people together via the act of collaborative creation,” said Josh Lu, GM and partner at a16z Speedrun.
With the new funding, Oasiz plans to accelerate product development, grow its creator community, and launch themed game jams. The company is preparing for a public launch and aims to form partnerships with developers, creators, and cultural brands. Founded by Abel Dagne and Jonathan Dngh, Oasiz hopes to position itself as the next cultural hub for interactive digital expression.
