Patti Smith and Lenny Kaye Postpone Birthday Shows

Longtime collaborators Patti Smith and Lenny Kaye have postponed their birthday shows due to Omicron. The influential proto-punk musicians will turn 75 within days of each other later next week.

Kaye’s December 27 show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, which falls on his birthday itself, will now take place on February 27. Meanwhile, Smith’s December 28 concert at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Steel has been moved to February 22 and her birthday gig at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre will now be held on February 24.

Kaye will release the new book, Lightning Striking: Ten Transformative Moments in Rock and Roll on January 11.
