Pinegrove Announce New Album ’11:11,’ Share New Single “Alaska”

The New Jersey-based indie-rock outfit Pinegrove have announced their newest album, 11:11, along with a new single titled “Alaska.” 11:11 will be the band’s fifth studio album since their debut Meridian back in 2012 and is set to release Jan. 28. The album was produced entirely by the band. Lead singer and songwriter Evan Stephens Hall describes the album as a way to find hope and come together in hard times.

When the clock strikes 11:11, many people make a wish or ease their minds during this minute of numerical continuity. This notion fits well with Hall’s intentions for the album’s ethos, saying, “There’s much to be angry about right now, and a lot of grief to metabolize. But hopefully, the loudest notes are of unity, collectivity, and community. I want to open a space for people to feel all these things.”

“Alaska” serves as the second single released off of 11:11 following “Orange,” a gentle waltz that protests the government’s disregard for the urgency of climate change. The single takes the album in a different direction from “Orange” as it kicks the sonic space into fourth gear, guided by driving guitar-based riffs.

Pre-orders for the album can be placed here and will be available on CD, standard black vinyl, deluxe single opaque red vinyl, and deluxe single green vinyl.

The band will begin their tour for the album on release day in Charleston, S.C. and finish up in Houston in April. After, they will venture across the pond for a run of European dates.
