Portugal. The Man Announce Intimate Theater Shows in Portland, Brooklyn, Denver and More

Portugal. The Man have announced a series of intimate performances supporting the release of their 10th studio album, SHISH. Just after the project’s arrival on Nov. 7 via KNIK, their Thirty Tigers imprint, the Grammy-winning indie-rock mainstays will greet close-quarters crowds at seven new venues, on top of their already packed fall and winter tour itinerary.

“Taking back to where we started!,” the band looked forward in an announcement post. “Explosive songs! Extended jams! Exclusive limited merch! Absolute mayhem!”

Following their two-night tour kickoff from their Portland, Ore. hometown’s Revolution Hall on Nov. 6 and 7, Portugal. The Man will deliver the first of their new “The Lords of Portland Present Portugal The Man” performance at Tacoma, Wash.’s Spanish Ballroom on Nov. 8. They’ll work down the West Coast with bigger gigs before stopping by Los Angeles’ The Troubadour on Nov. 14. While crossing the country, the band will make pit stops at Bolder, Colo.’s Fox Theatre on Nov. 14, Columbus, Ohio’s Skully’s Music Diner on Nov. 23 and Cleveland, Ohio’s Grog Shop on Nov. 26. After arriving on the East Coast with a show at Asbury Park, N.J.’s Asbury Lanes, the group will present one final small show at Boorklyn, N.Y.’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on Dec. 2.

SHISH shows Portugal. The Man braving fearsome new sonic possibilities and drawing inspiration from their origins in Alaska; it follows their surprise summer EP, uLu Selects Vol #2, and their acclaimed 2023 album Chris Black Changed My Life. They’ve previewed the project with “Denali,” the scuzzy, bombastic opening track, the high-shine garage rocker “Mush” and the sugary, spiraling baroque pop of “Tanana.”

Tickets for the new dates will go on sale tomorrow, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. local. These additions are sprinkled throughout Portugal. The Man’s previously announced Denali tour, which includes 20 stops across the country through Dec. 12. From Feb. 5 to March 26, they’ll begin another year on the road with a Europe tour.
