Rainbow Kitten Surprise Announce Headlining Australian Shows For Early 2026

Rainbow Kitten Surprise have added three new shows to their impending Australian tour, with headlining shows planned for January 2026. The American pop-rock band had been announced earlier this year as one of the main supports for Ocean Alley‘s biggest Australian shows to date, alongside UK band Nothing But Thieves and Australian singer-songwriter Ruby Fields. The band’s newly-updated Australian tour itinerary, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
The tour comes in support of the band’s fifth studio album Bones, which is set for release on Friday, September 26th via RKS/Atlantic. The follow-up to last year’s Love Hate Music Box double album was recorded with producer Jay Joyce, who worked with the band on their 2018 album How To: Friend, Love, Freefall and whose other production credits include Keith Urban, Orville Peck, Coheed & Cambria and Cage The Elephant. The album’s lead single, ‘Dang’, was released last month.

Formed in 2013 out of Boone, North Carolina, Rainbow Kitten Surprise released their debut EP Mary in 2013. Soon after, they released their debut album Seven independently, with the quasi-eponymous RKS following in 2015. The aforementioned How To: Friend, Love, Freefall was released in 2018, with the band undertaking a hiatus in 2023 – which meant pulling out of what would have been their first Australian tour, performing at that year’s Splendour In The Grass. They returned a year later as a four-piece, with longtime bassist Charlie Holt exiting the fold last May. Maddie Bouton has taken over as both a touring and session musician, playing bass for the recording of the Bones album.
