K-pop group Seventeen made their Tiny Desk debut, becoming the first K-pop act to play a Tiny Desk concert from NPR’s office in Washington, D.C.

K-pop group Seventeen made their Tiny Desk debut on Monday, performing reimagined versions of nine tracks spanning their decade-long career, backed by a live band. The set is historic , marking Seventeen as the first K-pop act to deliver a Tiny Desk concert in NPR’s Washington, D.C., office.

“We expected a more calm and quiet vibe because it’s an actual office, but it’s literally a concert,” the group remarked, astonished. Seventeen consists of 13 members, five of whom—Joshua, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino—appeared for the Tiny Desk concert, fitting perfectly into the cozy office space.

The group opened with their hit “Super” before shifting to softer songs like “Darl+ing,” “_WORLD,” and “To you.” Midway through the set, the group broke into an impromptu a cappella rendition of an audience member request, “HBD,” which had not made the cut for their setlist initially.

The energy ramped up with “bouncy pop-rock tracks” like “SOS,” produced by Marshmello, and “Rock With You,” before launching into the high-octane “CLAP” and “HOT.”

“We’re having so much fun because of you guys,” the group told the supportive crowd during their performance. “We were honestly super nervous to perform in such a setting, so thank you for making us feel so comfortable. You really boosted our confidence.”

The K-pop icons closed the set with fan-favorite “VERY NICE,” which is known for its never-ending rendition played at their headlining concerts. Staying true to tradition, they played an encore of the song while the audience danced along, ending the set on a joyful high note.

Seventeen will continue their ongoing world tour, “NEW,” with some dates in Japan throughout the rest of the year, and stadium stops in Singapore, Bangkok, and the Philippines in 2026.
