Singer D4vd Now Considered a Suspect in Investigation of Teen Girl Found Dead in His Car

Singer D4vd is now considered a suspect in the ongoing investigation of the teenage girl found dead in the trunk of his Tesla.

David Anthony Burke, better known as singer d4vd, is now considered a suspect in the investigation of the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Hernandez is the teenage girl whose body was found in September in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

While the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has still not determined a cause and manner of death for the 15-year-old, her body had been dismembered. The process of dismembering and disposing of her body is believed to have likely required and involved more than one person.

The teen was reported missing last year from the Lake Elsinore area in Riverside County. Investigators have been in contact with multiple people they believe were involved in the case in some way, sources told ABC News.

Sources also say that investigators believe the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death soon, which will be instrumental in making an arrest or determining charges. Authorities have also said that Hernandez may have been dead for several weeks before her body was discovered.

On September 8, officers responded to an impound lot in Hollywood for a “foul odor coming from a vehicle,” according to Los Angeles police. Authorities found a body in a state of decomposition in the front trunk of the Tesla. The car had been at the impound lot for two days after being found abandoned on a Hollywood street.

The vehicle is registered to 20-year-old Burke, who was originally said to be cooperating with the investigation. But a senior LAPD source has since said he is not cooperating.

After the body was identified in September, a Los Angeles home where Burke had been living was searched later that night, according to law enforcement. Burke was on tour at the time and not at the home.

Since the body was discovered in his vehicle, the last few shows of his tour, including those in San Francisco and Los Angeles, were cancelled, as was the European leg of the tour. Promotion of the deluxe edition of his debut album, originally due for release on September 19, has also been postponed.
