Sound Stock has entered the market with what it calls the world’s largest AI-cultivated royalty-free audio library, housing more than 10 million original assets. The company’s launch aims to disrupt the stock audio space by combining in-house production, AI-driven curation, and a transparent subscription model designed to remove download barriers for creators.

At launch, Sound Stock’s catalog spans four categories—sound effects, samples, loops, and full music tracks—each available in high-quality MP3 and WAV formats. This offering stands out in a sector where most platforms focus solely on one or two content types, while creative projects may need assets from all four. Pricing begins at $4.99 monthly or $3.99 per month when paid with an annual subscription. That pricing is upfront and transparent, there are no credit limits or tiered access and those who sign up receive unlimited downloads.

Founder & Chief Executive Officer Josh Linsk recently spoke with Digital Music News about the company’s approach to providing royalty-free sounds. He says Sound Stock aims to offer creative freedom rather than platform limitations. “Creators deserve abundance, not gatekeeping. That’s why we built the world’s largest fully original sound library — so anyone can access millions of royalty-free, ready-to-use assets instantly, without ever worrying about hitting download limits,” Linsk told Digital Music News.

Sound Stock’s anti-gatekeeping model also allows prospective users to preview the entire catalog without signing up—an uncommon feature in the subscription sound marketplace. According to Linsk, this structure intentionally differs from the typical models on offer and sets Sound Stock apart from its competitors.

“Unlimited truly means unlimited with Sound Stock,” Linsk continues. “Other platforms cap downloads because they profit more when users download less. We take the opposite approach—we want creators to download as many sounds, music tracks, and effects as they need until they find the sounds that are the perfect fit for their project.”

At its core, Sound Stock’s AI-driven curation ensures variety and originality. No sound is pulled from third-party sources or shared contributor pools. “Most platforms rely on the same contributors, recycling the same content across multiple sites,” Linsk continues. “We created an entirely in-house catalog, so every sound on Sound Stock is unique and original.”

What sets Sound Stock apart even further is its ‘Variations’ feature, which allows users to instantly preview alternate versions of any sound. For game sound design directors, this feature represents a significant workflow advantage. It enables the instant exploration of alternate takes on a single sound—essential for matching subtle differences in tone, intensity, or texture across gameplay environments.

By pairing proprietary AI systems with an in-house creative team, Sound Stock aims to combine scale with authenticity—a rare balance in the royalty-free audio landscape.
