The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed the arrest of Kelvin Evans in connection with the July break-in that targeted members of Beyoncé’s entourage. The theft involved critical equipment containing unreleased music and other sensitive materials linked to Beyoncé and her Cowboy Carter tour.

On July 8, 2025 Beyoncé’s choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue were in Atlanta as part of the Cowboy Carter tour. Their rental Jeep Wagoneer was parked inside a deck on Krog Street while they dined nearby. When they returned, the rear window had been smashed and two suitcases were gone. Stolen items included two Apple laptops and five thumb drives loaded with unreleased Beyoncé tracks and files related to her live shows.

An unidentified person provided this statement during a 911 call: “They have my computers, and it’s really, really important information in there. I work with someone who’s like of a high status, and I really need my computer and everything back.” The content was described as highly sensitive, including yet-to-be-released music, set lists, and detailed plan files about the tour.

Detectives from the Atlanta Police Department’s Larceny from Auto Unit used a combination of digital tracking using stolen AirPods and the ‘Find My’ feature, as well as fingerprints lifted from the vehicle. An arrest warrant for Kelvin Evans was issued in July.

By August 26, Evans was apprehended by Hapeville Police and booked into a Fulton County Jail; the charges include felony motor vehicle theft and parole violation. Evans is now in jail facing a charge of entering an automobile with the intent to commit theft.

Despite the arrest, Atlanta Police confirm that the missing laptops have not been recovered. The Cowboy Carter tour proceeded as planned despite the theft, with Beyoncé delivering four sold-out shows in Atlanta before heading to Las Vegas. The investigation remains open.
