SXSW Sydney 2025 Confirms New Artists, Speakers & First Music Conference Sessions
SXSW Sydney has today announced new additions to its Music Festival program.
The latest international additions include boundary-pushing Indian singer-songwriter and Diplo collaborator Rashmeet Kaur, rising US electronic Mom+Pop signee Vandelux, and Indonesian rap duo Tenxi & Jemsii, who pioneered the Hipdut sound with their viral track “Garam & Madu”. Filipino neo-soul artist August Wahh and New York-based psych-garage rock outfit The Thing have also joined the lineup.
Australian talent has been bolstered with Meanjin/Brisbane’s noise-drenched blue diner, Naarm/Melbourne’s celestial indie-folk performer Holly Hebe, Korean-Australian artist Peter Lee’s lo-fi psych-pop project Munan, and Eora/Sydney r&b and jazz underground mainstay Yasmina Sadiki.
The expanded roster features an impressive array of diverse artists including Beryl, Birdsnake, Korean act Bump2Soul, C.O.F.F.I.N, Charlotte OC from the UK, Thai outfit DOOR PLANT, and Hong Kong’s Virgin Vacation, among dozens of others representing countries across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
The speaker lineup has grown with global music industry heavyweights including Bryan Duquette, Founder of Outsidelands/Another Planet Entertainment (US); James Cheney, VP Creative at Reservoir (US); and Rachel So, Festival Manager at Goldenvoice, responsible for Coachella and Stagecoach festivals. Other notable additions include Chris Fraser, Head of A&R at Partisan Records, and Warner Music Korea’s Director of Domestic Marketing, Stacy Nam.
The first wave of music conference sessions will explore the evolving global music landscape, examining AI’s impact, the power of superfans, and strategies for entering new markets. Attendees can expect discussions on music ownership, export strategies and the creator economy, complemented by workshops designed to foster personal growth and overcome creative obstacles.
Claire Collins, SXSW Sydney’s Head of Music, stated: “The breadth of talent joining SXSW Sydney this year speaks to our growing role as the premier destination for music discovery and professional development in the Asia-Pacific. With some of the world’s most respected talent buyers and industry leaders in attendance, SXSW Sydney has become a truly global meeting point — a place where careers are launched, collabs take shape, and real deals are done.”
These additions join an already impressive lineup of artists and industry figures, with more announcements forthcoming.
The full list of confirmed artists, speakers and sessions for the SXSW Sydney 2025 Music Festival is available at the official website, with prospective attendees advised that the price of passes will increase after July 3rd.
