Taylor Swift Reveals New Album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

Taylor Swift’s next album is called The Life of a Showgirl.

The American pop megastar set off her Swifties in recent days by dropping several signature easter eggs, with a mysterious clock alluding to a 12th studio album.

The hype wasn’t for nothing.

The countdown expired at 12:12 a.m. ET on the 12th, exactly when TayTay made the big reveal during an appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s new podcast, New Heights.

And that’s about all, folks. TayTay blurred out the artwork, and has yet to announce the release date, tracklist, or collaborators, though she did shared a curated playlist on Spotify, which fans are currently pouring over.

Not one to drop the ball, Swift is taking pre-orders for the new project at her official website. Vinyl, CD and cassette copies of the collection will be shipped by Monday, October 13th.

The Life of a Showgirl is the followup to Swift’s 2024 release, The Tortured Poets Department, which expanded into a double album, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.

As a recording and touring artist, this decade has belonged to Swift. No one can beat her numbers.

In the year 2024, Swift led the ARIA Chart with 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Midnights, Lover, The Tortured Poets Department and again with The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.

At one stage, she swept all before her on the national singles chart by notching the entire top 10 – a Swift Sweep. And on multiple occasions, she locked up the entire top 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Swift’s seven east coast Australian stadium shows in 2024, produced by Frontier Touring, posted a record-breaking pre-sale.

It’s been smooth sailing this year for Swift, who recently bought back the master recordings for her first six albums, ending a years-long ownership battle during which TayTay took a novel path by re-recording “Taylor’s Versions” of Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989.

“All of the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me,” the singer wrote in a message posted to her website at the time. “I can’t thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but never owned until now.”
