Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers Announce Second Album ‘Glory’, Share ‘Mother’
Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers have detailed their second studio album, which they have titled Glory. The follow-up to 2023’s I Love You is set for release on Friday, November 7th via Community Music in Australia and Mom + Pop internationally. The ten-track album will include both of the band’s previously-released singles from this year: ‘Balcony’ from April, and ‘Unscarred’ from June.
To coincide with the album’s announcement, the Canberra-born pop-rock band have shared its third single, entitled ‘Mother’. The song was premiered on a run of east-coast headlining shows they undertook last month, and marks the first time in the band’s history that lead guitarist Scarlett McKahey has sung lead vocals on a track. In a joint press statement, the band dedicated the song to “every beautiful, magical lady who’s been caught in the crossfire of a man pretending to be good”.
“It’s about the built up rage of watching incredible women being mistreated by inadequate men, over and over again since the beginning of time,” they wrote. An accompanying music video for the track has also been shared, which was directed by Ruby Fields bassist Tas Wilson – AKA Corporate Giant – and stars sibling boxers Almosh and Vajk Tompa-Pinter. The video for ‘Mother’ can be viewed below.

Glory was recorded by the band with producer Catherine Marks, who came to Australia from her native London to record with the band at a secluded studio on the central coast of New South Wales. It was recorded during 2024, which proved to be the biggest year thus far for the band – starting that January with being voted into the 2023 triple j Hottest 100 at number 52 with the song ‘I Used To Be Fun’, and concluding with a run of stadium shows opening for Pearl Jam alongside the Pixies.
Also in 2024, the band shared a deluxe version of I Love You, dubbed I Love You Too. The expanded edition of the album included several new songs, including collaborative tracks with international acts The Linda Lindas (‘Please Me’) and Softcult (‘Dull’). 2025 thus far has seen Teen Jesus back out on the road with Pearl Jam, performing a run of dates with them across North America, as well as the band’s drummer Neve van Boxsel independently releasing her debut solo EP, entitled Playgirl.
