The Basement East Shifts Thursday’s Nashville is Dead Show to Benefit Tornado Relief

Over the weekend, a series of powerful tornados and storms ripped through Tennessee, resulting in the loss of hundreds of homes and six fatalities. To support victims and the affected community,  Nashville is Dead’s annual holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 14, at The Basement East in Nashville, Tenn., will donate 100% of proceeds to community resources to help with the devastation.

Nashville is Dead presents a twist on the ordinary tribute band experience, led by Mike Mizwinski; the recurring event offers a run-through of beloved Grateful Dead material, featuring a revolving door of seasoned musicians paying homage to this specific songbook.

Notably, the bandleader, Mizwinski, has been a student of the Grateful Dead’s music for the entirety of his musical career. The event will benefit the Community Resource Center of Middle Tennessee, whose mission is to “provide critical essential items to our most vulnerable Middle Tennessee neighbors, both during times of disaster and during seasons of ongoing need.” Learn more about the choice charity and donate here

Tickets for Thursday night’s event, which doubles as a holiday show, are available and can be purchased now
