The Cat Empire Announce 2025 Australian Tour With Little Quirks

Hot on the heels of a show-stealing set at Bluesfest 2025, Aussie ska-jazz-funk legends The Cat Empire have announced a massive Australian headline tour for later this year, in honour of their recently released 10th studio album, Bird In Paradise.

With support from Central Coast indie-folk trio Little Quirks, the tour will see The Cat Empire perform songs off their new record at 12 dates across the nation this August and September, with an itinerary stacked with plenty of regional and all ages events.

The run will kick off with an 18+ event in Fremantle, with an AA matinee show the following day. The Cat Empire will then head to Sydney (AA), Newcastle (18+), Broken Hill (AA), Gold Coast (12+), Brisbane (AA), Cairns (AA), Tasmania (AA), Ballarat (18+) and wrap up with two Melbourne shows – the first for fans aged 18+ and the second for fans of all ages.

Bird in Paradise is billed as showcasing The Cat Empire in “full technicolour”, offering up a sonic kaleidoscope of flamenco, funk, Latin, jazz and Creole influences. The album is a triumphant return to The Cat Empire’s organic roots, recorded live in-studio with a focus on chemistry, groove, and storytelling.

“We didn’t set out to make this record — it found us,” says frontman Felix Riebl. “It’s a celebration of spontaneity, togetherness, and letting music lead the way.”
