‘The Jam’ Podcast Outlines Fourth Season, Featuring The Wood Brothers, Cyril Neville, Jay Lane, Andy Frasco, Sam Grisman and More
Osiris Media has launched the fourth season of The Jam podcast, hosted by Grammy-award-winning music industry titan Jonathan Shank. The first episode is out now and features a conversation with folk favorites The Wood Brothers about their latest studio release, Puff of Smoke, released on August 1. The season’s arrival kicks off a weekly series, with new episodes arriving on Thursdays through December 4.
In addition to the week one guests, Shank will keep conversations rolling with the arrival of Brad Corrigan and Chad Urmston from Dispatch on October 16. Next, Eggy’s Jake Brownstein and the band’s manager, Michael McDonald, will discuss the group’s origin and the expanding jam scene (October 23). Conversations continue the following week with Jay Lane and Mark Karan, who will speak about the roots of RatDog and touring with Bobby Weir.
On November 6, Cyril Neville will share his experiences playing with the Dead and the Big Easy’s impact on music. The String Cheese Incident’s Kyle Hollingsworth arrives next, followed by second-generation torchbearer of Dawg music, Sam Grisman (November 20). Then, on November 27, Andy Frasco and Relix’s Dean Budnick will explore the connection between jam music and sports.
The podcast’s fourth season will close with a final episode on December 4, featuring Particle (Steve Molitz, Darren Pujalet, and Eric Gould), who will retrace their festival history and more. Each episode includes artist-inspired playlists and untold stories that enrich the lives of the artists behind some of our favorite music.
Ahead of his appearance on the podcast, Brownstein said, “I loved being on The Jam Podcast with Jonathan. He’s built something different by putting the perspective of artists and their teams at the center. Speaking with Jonathan and Michael made for a really insightful and meaningful conversation.”
