Naarm/Melbourne-based punk experimentalists The Maggie Pills have unveiled a dark, vibey new single. Dubbed ‘Velobell’, the enigmatic sextet’s latest release was produced/co-mixed by the band’s own Mario Perez, recorded and mixed by Brad Jackson, and mastered by Grammy-winning Linkin Park engineer Emerson Mancini.

Wrought with tense atmospherics, grungy guitars, galloping basslines and dreamy vocals, the song is a spooky, jarring thrill ride with an uplifting message at its heart.

The Maggie Pills – ‘Velobell’

“The song is a message of resilience,” the band explain in a press statement. “It’s about the moments when we lose sight of ourselves, when life feels heavy and out of sync – yet something within us refuses to let go.”

They continue: “Whether you’re wrestling grief, burnout, addiction, or just the quiet emptiness of everyday life, ‘Velobell’ is a howl from the void that says: ‘You’re still in there, and you’re not alone’.”

After sharing the stage with the likes of Black Lips (USA), Shihad, Cable Ties, The Mark Of Cain, Private Function and more, The Maggie Pills will now celebrate the release ‘Velobell’ with a launch party in their hometown of Naarm/Melbourne at John Curtin Hotel on Friday, 13th June.
