The Southern River Band Announce New Album ‘Easier Said Than Done’

The Southern River Band have officially shared details of their fourth studio album, Easier Said Than Done. The follow-up to last year’s D.I.Y. is slated for release on Friday, October 17th via Civilians (formerly Cooking Vinyl Australia). It was recorded by the band at Brooklet Recording in Byron Bay with its owner, producer Nick DiDia. The Perth glam-rock band have also shared the album’s latest single, as well as a run of national tour dates for October 2025 – all of which can be found below.

‘No Such Time’ is the album’s third single, following on from ‘Fuck You, Pay Me’ in March and the album’s opening number ‘Don’t Take It To Heart’ back in June. The song is the only track on the album to not be written by the band themselves; instead, the song was surprisingly penned by Bernard Fanning – formerly of Powderfinger, and lately of Fanning Dempsey National Park.

“It’s not every day you get a message from Bernard Fanning saying ‘g’day boys, got a song for ya’,” said frontman Cal Kramer in a press statement, “but we were lucky enough to have that day. We SRB’d it good and proper, and we’re absolutely stoked with how it turned out (so is he, thank fuck). The Southern River Band – ‘No Such Time’

To celebrate the release of Easier Said Than Done, the band are set to embark on a national tour in October. It will kick off in Melbourne on Thursday, October 16th – the day before the album’s release – and will conclude with a hometown show in Fremantle on Halloween. “What would a new record be without some shows to go with it?” said the band. “Can’t fuckin’ wait to see youse all soon.”
