Thundercat Details ‘Apocalypse’ 10-Year Anniversary Edition

Today, primer bassist Thundercat announced his album Apocalypse will get the 10-year anniversary deluxe treatment with a rerelease featuring two fresh tracks set to release March 1, 2024, via Brainfeeder.

The multi-Grammy-winning artist’s two new songs are titled “Before I loved myself ‘I’ pooped my ankles (true)” and “Paris.” The former was recorded with Austin Peralta and Taylor Graves, and the latter is with producer Mono/Poly. The new material will come with the stylish and funky rollout of songs that boosted Thundercat to great heights back in 2013, including classics like “Heartbreaks + Setbacks,” “Oh Sheit, It’s X,” “Lotus and the Jondy,” and “Tron Son” which were ameliorated by the astral stylings of Executive Producer Flying Lotus.

Additionally, the deluxe LP also includes special rainbow holographic artwork housed inside a transparent PVC outer slipcase complete with an x-ray holographic skull print. A decade after the release of Apocalypse Thundercat is at the top of his game, having completed a tour that saw stops at Glastonbury, two sold-out nights at the Sydney Opera House, and collaborations with the likes of Donald Glover, Steve Lacy, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Suicidal Tendencies, and more.

Thundercat will be back on tour in Europe in the Spring of 2024. See full dates below.
