Tony Trischka to Celebrate 75th Birthday at City Winery NYC

Today, City Winery NYC announced it will host an event in celebration of Tony Trischka’s 75th birthday. The gathering, set to take place on Jan. 19, will feature some of the best bluegrass musicians in the world today.

The Syracuse, N.Y.-native will be joined by special guests and friends, including Michael Cleveland, Michael Daves, Jared Engel, Jacob Jolliff, Kenny Kosek, Steve Martin, Bruce Molsky, Joyce Carol Oates, Noam Pikelny, Sean Trischka, Abigail Washburn, Danny Weiss and more. The first of the month of next year will not only contain Trischka’s birthday but also the 100th birthday of Earl Scruggs.

The exceptional musicianship on display will be in honor of both Trischka and Scruggs the former of who has recreated previously unheard performances of the latter, which will be featured on his soon-to-be-released LP via Down the Road records.
