Trey Anastasio Band will finish the remainder of their fall tour without their three-piece horn section after trumpeter and longtime member Jennifer Hartswick tested positive for COVID. Hartswick is currently experiencing mild systems and is expected to make a full recovery.

A note posted on Anastasio’s socials explains, “Despite thorough safety protocols, Jennifer Hartswick has tested positive for Covid-19. She is experiencing minor symptoms and expected to recover fully. Starting with tonight’s performance, Trey Anastasio Band will continue the tour without the horn section. We will miss them all. We strongly recommend that all fans wear a mask at shows when social distancing isn’t possible. Thank you for continuing to do your part and stay safe.”

TAB was already touring in a different configuration after saxophonist James Casey was diagnosed with cancer and forced to skip this run of dates. Daptone staple Cochemea Gastelum has been subbing for Casey on the road with TAB, though he missed what was supposed to be his second concert with the group due to a previous commitment supporting Antibalas at New York’s Central Park SummerStage. Trombonist Natalie Cressman’s father Jeff, a longtime Santana collaborator and former member of Anastasio’s solo group, stepped in for the gig.

The Phish guitarist and his band will perform in Charlotte, NC this evening.
