Twenty One Pilots More Than We Ever Imagined

It turns out Twenty One Pilots is big in Mexico: Now, the duo’s preparing to release a concert film chronicling its sold-out Mexico City stadium performance.

Twenty One Pilots delivered that show (one of three Clancy World Tour stops in Mexico) back in February 2025, attracting somewhere in the ballpark of 65,000 supporters to the Estadio GNP Seguros.

Evidently, the enterprising act was maneuvering to capitalize on the massive attendance from the outset. Besides compiling behind-the-scenes footage in the leadup to the Mexico City concert, Twenty One Pilots utilized “over 20 cameras centered around the fans” to capture the performance itself.

(A worthwhile parenthetical: Twenty One Pilots previously tested the concert-film waters. Years later, superfans are discussing the theaters-only release alongside the new movie, which they managed to spot before today’s formal announcement.)

Enter Trafalgar Releasing’s Twenty One Pilots: More Than We Ever Imagined, which is set to receive a limited-time release at IMAX and traditional theaters on February 26th.

As described by the concert-focused Trafalgar Entertainment subsidiary, the film will “follow the band from their arrival in Mexico City to the stage,” including “the preparation and anticipation” leading up to showtime.

Tickets are expected to go on sale next Thursday, January 15th. Ahead of the premiere, Trafalgar, Twenty One Pilots, and Warner Music are also taking steps to generate more revenue than they ever imagined; a dedicated More Than We Ever Imagined merch collection, complete with hoodies ($75 a pop), t-shirts ($35), a flag ($35 once again), and more, is already available to preorder.

Addressing the project, director Mark Eshleman, Twenty One Pilots’ creative and content director, noted his decades of experience following the duo’s performances and, regardless of venue size, the act’s longstanding emphasis on “preparation and a vision.”

“For ‘More Than We Ever Imagined,’” Eshleman continued, “we were given the opportunity to capture two perspectives of a Twenty One Pilots performance: over 20 cameras centered around the fans experiencing their show and, the second, the perspective I have had all these years leading up to that sold out stadium in Mexico City, a camera following Tyler and Josh as they take the fundamentals of their show and apply to one of the biggest stages.”

Particularly following the blockbuster success of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie, it doesn’t really need saying that there’s plenty of potential upside and relatively little risk associated with putting out concert films.

November saw Trafalgar release one such film with BTS member J-Hope; the work made a bit of a box-office splash and, more importantly, became available on demand via Hybe’s Weverse superfan platform after the fact.

And today, Sony Music, Bazmark Films, and Authentic Studios confirmed a week-long IMAX-only theatrical run for Baz Luhrmann’s EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert beginning on February 20th. Among other things, the 100-minute work “features long-lost footage from Presley’s legendary Vegas residency in the 1970s,” according to the involved parties.
