Umphrey’s McGee have announced their first shows of 2026. On January 2 and 3, the jam giants will take the stage at the beloved indie haven The Salt Shed, set on the shore of the Chicago River, back in their hometown. They’ll throw down two sets on each night, alongside opening support from their peers in Andy Frasco & The U.N. “What could possibly go wrong?” the band tempted fate in an announcement post to their social channels.

With the historic year they’ve enjoyed, Umphrey’s McGee will have more than enough momentum to carry them through to 2026. After parting ways with their longtime drummer Kris Myers in May, the pioneering prog ensemble formally welcomed touring stand-in Scotty Zwang as their new permanent backbeat in August. Tomorrow, they’ll release Blueprints, their long-awaited 15th studio album and first since 2022’s Asking for a Friend; earlier this week, they heralded the record’s arrival with an electrifying premiere event at Garcia’s Chicago, including a complete listening session, a live Q&A and sit-ins from Warren Haynes and Karina Rykman. The band will celebrate the formal release with 15 further tour dates across the country, then cap off a nonstop year with a special two-night New Year’s Eve presentation at Atlanta’s The Tabernacle on Dec. 30 and 31.

Tickets for Umphrey’s McGee’s Salt Shed shows with Andy Frasco & The U.N. are available via an exclusive umVIP presale now, with a general on-sale to follow tomorrow, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. CT. Tomorrow night, they’ll return to the stage for the first of two nights at Bellvue, Colo.’s Mishawaka Amphitheatre. Find tickets and more information at umphreys.com/tour.
