Warren Haynes Christmas Jam Pre Jam Lights Up The Orange Peel, Tonight’s Christmas Jam Will Stream on Volume

Last night, the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC hosted the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam Pre Jam. Proceeds from the performance as well as this evening’s Warren Haynes Presents: Christmas Jam will be directed to Habitat for Humanity Asheville and BeLoved Asheville, who are working to support the local community, which is still recovering from Hurricane Helene.

The show opened with Asheville-native Haynes delivering apt solo versions of “Til the Sun Comes Shining Through” and “Back Where It Started” before Grahame Lesh and Songbird Holler joined him for “Cold Rain and Snow.” Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country then delivered a five-song set that opened with “Roll in My Sweet Baby’s Arms” and concluded with a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Quinn The Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn).” MJ Lenderman & the Wind appeared next, beginning their 35-minute performance with “You Bought Yourself a Boat” and eventually closing things out with “Knockin’.” Donato, Kevin Scott and Duane Trucks then took the stage as Triple Wide for a set that included “New Minglewood Blues,” “All Along the Watchtower” and “Big River.” Warren Haynes & Friends energized the Orange Peel next with a lineup that pulled together Jeff Sipe, Greg Osby, Danny Louis, Haynes and Scott. Finally, Grahame Lesh paid tribute to his father, alongside four musicians who joined Phil on multiple occasions over the years: John Molo, Jason Crosby, Haynes and Donato. Their dynamic set, which included a guest appearance by Osby, began with “New Speedway Boogie” and later wrapped up with “Morning Dew.”

A few limited tickets remain on sale for tonight’s Warren Haynes Presents: Christmas Jam at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena while the show will be streamed on Volume, with proceeds directed to the aforementioned charitable organizations.
