The rapper has been accused of sexual assault and domestic violence in the past
Tekashi 6ix9ine has appeared in a new advert for a New York sex shop that also doubles as a PSA against violence towards women.
The commercial sees the controversial rapper enter the store Romantic Depot with a woman and tell an employee: “We’re here to spice things up.” The member of staff replies: “You do know you have to know your partner’s limitations?”
“I agree,” responds Tekashi 6ix9ine. “When I was younger, I used to make a lot of stupid mistakes, but I’m ready to learn more.” Later, he adds: “Thanks to Romantic Depot I now know how to treat women with dignity and respect.”
A disclaimer at the start of the advert states: “In no way does Romantic Depot support Tekashi 6ix9ine’s past activities.” You can watch the advert above now.
The commercial comes days after Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was accused of sustained domestic abuse by the mother of his child.
Sara Molina claimed that the rapper had assaulted her on multiple occasions during their seven-year relationship, which ended last year. One alleged incident that Molina described is said to have occurred in front of the former couple’s daughter when she Wass two-years-old.
Representatives for Hernandez have yet to comment on the new allegations. The star himself is currently awaiting sentencing for a string of offences, including racketeering, drug distribution, and gun possession.
