Zan Rowe Departs Mornings as Double J and Triple J Announce 2026 Schedule
Triple j and Double J have unveiled their 2026 schedules, including new shows and the departure of a beloved Mornings host.
Tom Forrest, best known as ‘Outback Tom’, is officially joining the triple j team with Country Club, a new country music show. No stranger to triple j listeners, Forrest has been a longtime friend of the station, guest-hosting on Blak Out, Drive, and over Summer, and has previously held roles in the triple j Unearthed team.
A proud First Nations creator, storyteller, and music lover, he is set to bring listeners the very best in country music, as he broadcasts weekly from outback Australia in the Kimberley region of WA. Each week, Sundays at 6pm, he’ll showcase the best sounds and stories from local and international country artists.
The second new show is Doof, aiming to be the home of Australia’s best electronic music, DJs and producers. Hosted by triple j presenter Latifa Tee, Doof shines a light on the homegrown electronic scene, championing all the local artists making waves. On Fridays from 10pm-1am, she’ll share fresh tracks, familiar favourites, artist chats, and deep dives.
The entire weekday crew is returning in 2026. Listeners can start the day with triple j Breakfast hosted by Concetta & Luka from 6-9am, followed by Lucy Smith on Mornings from 9am-12pm. Dave Woodhead returns for Lunch from 12-3pm, and triple j Drive with Abby & Tyrone starts half an hour earlier running from 3-5:30pm, leading into Hack with Dave Marchese from 5:30-6pm. From 6-7pm, there will be another hour of Drive before Home & Hosed with Anika Luna from 7-9pm. All specialist shows will also continue in their regular time slots.
On Weekends, Jordan Barr will now run from 7-11am, then Frankie Rowsthorn will kick off from 11am-2pm. Listeners can round out their arvo with Phil Fresh from 2pm. House Party, Mix Up and Blak Out return to their regular time slots, while on Sundays Live At The Wireless moves to 7pm, Perfect Sunday kicks off from 8pm, and The Hook Up from 9pm.
Triple j’s Summer programming begins Monday, December 15th, bringing fresh voices, the best new music, and all your favourite tracks. Plus, things will heat up as we get closer to the Hottest 100 of 2025.
As for Double J, comedian and former triple j Drive host Michael Hing is back at the helm of Double J Mornings, Monday-Thursday from 9am. Karen Leng returns to Lunch from 12pm, Monday-Friday, while Dylan Lewis is driving listeners home on Arvos from 3pm weekdays, with his daily dose of chaos and the tunes you can’t get enough of.
Fridays will sound a little different in 2026 as acclaimed presenter, music journalist and legendary broadcaster Zan Rowe wraps up her time on Friday Mornings.
She’s not going far, though — she will continue to host the award-winning Take 5 podcast on Double J throughout the year, while also fronting ABC’s series reboot of Race Around the World and returning with a new season of Take 5 with Zan Rowe.
Double J will announce her replacement in early 2026.
On Weekends, listeners can once again enjoy waking up with broadcaster, author and podcast host Yumi Stynes from 8am, and brighten their Saturday and Sunday afternoons with the host of Classic Albums, Caz Tran.
Double J’s 00s Night, formerly Friday Night 00s, has had a time change to 5pm Fridays and 7pm Saturday, while Sky High with Hau Latukefu has moved to Tuesday at 7pm. The Block Party with Latukefu has also moved slightly later, now kicking off at 7pm on Fridays.
Tower of Song with Henry Wagons, Short Fast Loud with Josh Redbeard and Double J’s Live at the Wireless all return to their regular time slots.
The 2026 programming for triple j kicks off Monday, January 5th, and Double J on Monday, January 12th.
