Kanye West Reportedly Shopping New Album—No Takers Yet

Kanye West is ready to drop a new album collab with Ty Dolla $ign, with reports suggesting the duo are looking for a distributor.
Reports suggest the album was originally supposed to release on October 12, but now it has been delayed. If the album is released this year, it will mark the first album release since Kanye’s antisemitic rants cost him bank accounts, his Adidas deal, and more.
Billboard reports Kanye has at least five offers on the table from smaller distributors eager to be associated with Kanye. At least one of those offers appears to have come from music publishing company Too Lost—which now holds the rights to Ye’s music on YouTube. Kanye is reported to be deciding soon on who will distribute this latest work.
An Italian outlet reports that Ye hosted a private listening party at the beginning of October for the new album. Kanye has collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign multiple times in the past, including on Ty’s song “Ego Death” released in 2020. Most recently the duo worked together on “Junya Pt 2” on the 2021 album Donda.
The duo is rumored to be hosting a listening party at the RCF Arena on October 20, according to social media reports. “He will be at Campovolo on October 20 to present his new album at the RCF Arena,” to upwards of 80,000 people. So far it’s unclear if that report is accurate, as Billboard reports Kanye’s team has not confirmed the location.
Kanye made a surprise appearance to support Travis Scott during his Circus Maximus tour in Rome on August 7. Since then he has been photographed in various locations around Italy with his wife, Bianca Censori. West’s antisemitic rants last year have probably left most music executives hesitant to work with the star, especially as the Israel/Hamas conflict is at the forefront of the public’s attention.
West is also notorious for making last-minute changes and setting up recording studios to finish his last album. The singer spent several weeks living inside an Atlanta Stadium perfecting the album for listening parties attended by more than 40,000 people in 2021.
