Diddy Faces New Rape Allegations, Denies Wrongdoing
Content Warning: The following article discusses sexual assault and rape.
Sean Combs, also known as Diddy in the hip-hop industry, faces a new rape allegation as a woman accuses him and two others of sexually assaulting her nearly two decades ago when she was just 17 years old. This marks the fourth lawsuit filed against Combs in recent weeks, as various women, including his former girlfriend Casandra Ventura (Cassie), have accused him of sexual assault. He settled with Cassie just a day after she filed her lawsuit.
In the most recent lawsuit, the woman, identified as Jane Doe, alleges that she underwent a traumatic ordeal of “gang rape” and “sex trafficking” orchestrated by Combs and two associates. She filed the complaint in federal court in Manhattan, New York.
Jane Doe’s Account of Assault Allegations at Diddy’s Studio
Jane Doe’s account begins when she met Combs and Harve Pierre, the president of Bad Boy Records, at a Detroit lounge in 2003. According to her, Pierre convinced her to accompany them, along with two others, on a private jet bound for Combs’s New York recording studio.
Before departing, Pierre allegedly directed her to a lounge restroom, where he consumed crack cocaine and coerced her into performing oral sex. Upon arriving at Combs’s studio, someone allegedly gave her drugs and alcohol, which incapacitated her and made her unable to consent to sexual activity.
Diddy allegedly then led her to a studio bathroom, where he forcibly undressed and sexually assaulted her. During this traumatic event, she alleges drifting in and out of consciousness due to the drugs and alcohol. Shockingly, Combs reportedly allowed the third man to rape her while he watched from outside, despite her pleas for intervention.
After the assault, someone escorted her out of the building. She could barely stand due to the trauma and had little recollection of her journey back to Michigan. Court documents also include images of the woman inside what is believed to be Combs’s music studio. In her lawsuit, the woman gained confidence from other cases involving Combs and Pierre, while Combs vehemently denied the allegations and vowed to defend his reputation and family.
It’s important to note that the previous three lawsuits against Combs temporarily extended the statute of limitations for sexual assault cases under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. This latest filing falls under New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act, allowing survivors of gender-based violence to pursue civil suits against their perpetrators, even beyond the statute of limitations.
