Franz Ferdinand Announce 2025 Australian Tour

Franz Ferdinand have shared details of their return to Australia, closing out 2025 with a mix of outdoor and theatre shows. It will mark the band’s first time in the country since 2018, and comes as part of their world tour in support of their sixth studio album The Human Fear, which was released this past January. The full list of tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.

Joining the band as main support for all but the Thirroul date are Melbourne band Teenage Dads, who are still touring in support of their second studio album Majordomo from 2024. Also on the bill are garage-rock quintet Delivery, who themselves are also touring in support of their sophomore LP Force Majeure.

Franz Ferdinand – ‘This Fire’

The Scottish indie-rock veterans were last in Australia in mid-2018, performing at that year’s Splendour In The Grass and also playing select co-headlining sideshows alongside MGMT. Since they were last in Australia, the band has had a line-up change following the departure of founding drummer Paul Thompson in 2021. He was replaced by Audrey Tait, who will be making her Australian debut as part of Franz Ferdinand as part of the upcoming 2025 tour. The band also released a greatest-hits compilation, Hits To The Head, in 2022.

* – Delivery only; Teenage Dads not appearing

A pre-sale will run from 10am local time on Monday, May 12th. General sale will then follow on Wednesday, May 14th – again at 10am local time. Both can be accessed via the official tour promoter, Frontier Touring.
