Last night, Goose and Mt. Joy met up at Kohl Center in Madison, Wis., for a co-headlining gig. The evening consisted of separate sets from each band, which culminated in a collaborative encore. The two groups met up during the final moments of the night, performing a trio of songs, two covers, and a feature off Mt. Joy’s debut, self-titled LP.

Goose turned in a single-set performance, consisting of seven songs, all originals, which touched on new albums Chain Your Dragon [“Royal”], as well as Everything Must Go [“Animal,” “Give It Time,” and “Your Direction”], before going deeper with Dripfield [“Slow Ready”] and Moon Cabin [“Arcadia”] material.

The Connecticut ensemble passed the torch to Mt. Joy next, who proceeded into a career-spanning sprint through originals, some of which were excerpts of classics, amongst the highlights were The Velvet Underground’s “Oh! Sweet Nuthin’” during their original “Ruins,” and after later, baked Buddy Holiday & The Cricket’s “Not Fade Away” into their own self-titled cut.

Ultimately, Mt. Joy followed up with fan favorites, “Bathroom Light” and “Silver Lining,” before welcoming all four members of Goose during the encore. For their joint delivery, the two groups settled into a spirited take on Ween’s “Ocean Man,” followed by Mt. Joy’s own “Astrovan.” For their final move, the band performed 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up?”

Goose will continue their Fall Tour in the Midwest this weekend, performing in Michigan on Friday and Chicago on Saturday.

The band also announced their Mexico destination concert event, slated for May 7-9, 2026. Read more.
