On Saturday evening, Goose arrived at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago for the final regional appearance on their current fall outing. The group’s Windy City arrival followed a series of Midwest performances, which began on Wednesday, September 17, as a co-bill with Mt. Joy. The band stopped in Wisconsin and Michigan on their way to Chicago, which served as a landing spot for their debut cover, emerging during set one as a first-time play.

Goose emerged on stage at the open-air venue, greeting their eager crowd with a relatively unexpected cover. For their first move, the Connecticut ensemble delivered The Who’s “Eminence Front.” Its arrival marked the second time the song entered the band’s setlist this year, following the track’s  2024 revival, when it emerged six times, after being shelved since 2021. Upon completing their leading cover, Goose kicked off a series of originals that ran one after the next without pause: “Drive,” “Iguana Song,” “ Same Old Shenanigans,” and “Feel It Now.”

The band came up for air before the onset of the Chain Yer Dragon feature, “Dr. Darkness,” and followed by carving out space for a debut. Taking the concert’s seventh slot was Future Islands’ “Peach,” which was christened with a bass-heavy lead that unfolded into mellow waves of instrumentation and doom-laden lyrics. Goose came to a complete stop after completing the cover and ultimately transitioned into Shenanigans Nite Club‘s “So Ready” and “(dawn).”

Set two saw a tight arrangement of stretched-out jams, leading with “Hungersite,” which found an access point and merged into Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes’ “Don’t Leave Me This Way.” Their ensuing stagetime featured a trio of originals: “Tumble,” “The Empress of Organos,” and another piece from 2025’s Chain Yer Dragon, “Jed Stone.” The night’s encore extended Goose’s stagetime, keeping Rick Mitaronda, Peter Anspach, Trevor Weekz, and Cotter Ellis engaged in an instrumental tête-à-tête that surfaced as “The Empress of Organos” reprise.

After submitting in the Midwest leg of their Fall Tour, Goose will trot down to the Louisville Palace Theatre for their next batch of live performances, two nights in Louisville, Ky. Tickets remain on sale.
