Today, Johnny Stachela, guitarist and singer-songwriter best known as a charter member of The Allman Betts Band, and Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel, releases his EP, The Stroll. Following Stachela’s two singles- “All Because of You” and “Pills & Liquor”- issued in the past months, the full, four-song collection, including the ZZ Top-tinged “If Love Is Real” and fuzzed-out slide blues, “Feel No Pain,” is now available on all streaming platforms. Recorded in collaboration with JD Simo, at Simo’s Nashville-based House of Grease studio in the summer of 2024, Stachela led a trio of sessions pros, including Simo on guitar and vocals, Ron Eoff on bass, and Jason Smay on drums. The set was mixed and mastered by Marc DeSisto in Los Angeles.

“Writing and recording have always been very fulfilling experiences for me,” says Stachela. “Putting together The Stroll was especially satisfying. I’ve been very busy in the studio working on other records the past couple years. This gave me the opportunity to create something true to myself, which hopefully people will enjoy. We took the Led Zeppelin approach of tracking everything live in the moment. There is an energy and realness to that approach that you can’t capture any other way. I’m ready to jump back in and make some more music.”
