moe. Bring Back Pink Floyd’s “Have a Cigar” on Night One at Brooklyn Bowl, Add Suke Cerulo to Friday’s Lineup

moe. turned in the latest stop on their fall run last night at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl. The two-set performance represented the first in a series of two back-to-back concerts at the Big Apple venue. Before taking the stage, the group shared on social media that Suke Cerulo, who filled in for Chuck Garvey during his recovery from health challenges, will join the lineup on Friday, October 10.

“Cerulo toured with moe. for all of 2022 while Chuck Garvey was off the road due to health issues, and he formed a tangible and exciting chemistry with the band while he was touring with them. We’re stoked that he’ll be back with moe. for the first time in 3 years when they hit the Brooklyn Bowl stage on 10/10,” the venue shared, marking the exciting addition.

Following the announcement, last night’s concert featured a setlist arranged by keyboardist Nate Wilson, who projected his own history as a member of the group through their delivery of “Giants,” the first song he wrote with the band, before following up with a well-seasoned “Okayalright” and “Puela.” Next, they worked through the Garvey-scribed “All Roads Lead Home,” followed by a longtime piece of the band’s repertoire, which extends back to its 1998 debut, “Again and Again.”

Derhak’s standard “Timmy Tucker” emerged ahead of the set ender, “Silver Sun.” Back on stage for the second half of the night, they glued together “Tailspin,” “Bullet,” and “Water,” delivering a three-piece concoction without pause. “Tomorrow is Another Day” was fused with a follow-up, this time, “So Long.” The remainder of their frame was made up of “Skitchin’ Buffalo,” and fan favorite, “Brent Black,” served with a Pink Floyd encore, the first “Have a Cigar” since March 21, 2024.

In addition to their live show, the group shared the return of their Rock the Pink partnership with the American Cancer Society. The charitable giveback offers a range of incentives, including activities with band members, such as “Hang with Al,” a fly-fishing experience in exchange for a $350 donation, or a ski day with the guitarist at the same price bracket.

Also included is a virtual coffee conversation with Rob Derhak [$250], 18-holes of golf with Jim Loughlin and Vinnie Amico [$450], a one-hour private virtual drum lesson with Amico [$100], in addition to the “Ultimate Fan Package,” a pair of tickets to a concert of choice with access to soundcheck, the setlist meeting and more [$1,000], and “Collaborate with The Band,” which gives three lucky fans a chance to write a setlist for the show and extras [$1,000].
