Sydney synth wizard and Italo-disco cult hero Touch Sensitive is back, just in time to rescue us from the winter blues. The producer, bassist, and all-around groove merchant (aka Michael Di Francesco) has officially announced his long-awaited second studio album, In Paradise, set to drop on Friday, 22nd August via Future Classic.

Described as a “slice of summertime” built to teleport you straight out of your SAD spiral, In Paradise is marks Touch Sensitive’s first LP in eight long years.

Touch Sensitive – ‘A Team Spirit’

The follow-up to 2017’s fan-fave Visions, this one’s stacked with killer collabs, including with the artist’s longtime friend and Sneaky Sound System powerhouse Connie Mitchell, disco royalty Larry Dunn (Earth, Wind & Fire), plus an all-star cast of Sydney’s finest musos and producers, including Tony Buchan (Smashing Pumpkins, Peter Garrett) and Murray Lake (Parcels, Anderson .Paak, Genesis Owusu).

Touch himself says the record was born from chasing that pure feeling of “jamming with mates in my parents’ garage after school.” He describes In Paradise as being “what it might feel like if the future was fully automated – no human error, just pure blissed-out perfection”.

Recent single ‘A Team Spirit’ (listen above) gives a taste of what’s to come – an instant time-warp moment featuring Connie Mitchell’s vocals, vintage synth textures and retro-futuristic flavour.

Since 2013’s breakout hit ‘Pizza Guy’, Touch Sensitive has become a fixture in Aussie music culture – racking up over 120 million streams, selling out headline shows, playing every major festival under the sun (Splendour, Laneway, Falls — tick, tick, tick), and contributing basslines to just about everyone’s record. Not to mention stints in Van She, Genesis Owusu’s Black Dog Band, and the Flight Facilities and Izzi Manfredi live setups.

Yep — he’s that guy.

LP pre-orders are live now. Hit em up here.
